Washington Endurance Series promotes unsanctioned underground cycling events based in Bellingham, WA. Plan on being fully self-supported, and we’ll be striving for a small footprint on course. Treat other trail users with respect, and do your best to leave no trace.
Our races have no fees, but all attempts will be made to record your finish time in comparison to others. The goal is to finish these challenges while setting your own pace. A start time and route are provided prior to each event* and it is up to the participant to understand the route, and also have full responsibility for their navigation and well being. These are not group rides, although some people might do these as rides with friends or even other riders they meet at the start, or along the route.
Since these events are self-supported, it should be understood that they are for the experienced backcountry cyclist only. Maps, GPS devices, water filtration units, and other backcountry tools may be necessary. If you question your ability to complete such an event, it is best that you consider another option before trying WES. It is up to you—and you alone—to ensure your own safety!
The goal of WES is to promote responsible grassroots cycling events in Washington State, and to provide a FREE competitive outlet for the state’s endurance racers. WES events are supposed to be fun, so stick around after for food and refreshments provided by our sponsors.
So, if you have interest, come on out and join us, and do your part to contribute to this grassroots effort! Sign up for the mailing list below to learn more.
We hope to see you out there this season, it will be EPIC!
Sincerely,
WES Crew
